Facility:
This well-established medical center is a 250-bed facility featuring 30 ICU beds and serves as a comprehensive inpatient care destination for adult and geriatric populations. The facility operates with a collaborative team of interventional cardiologists and provides strong provider support, with other interventional cardiologists present during locum coverage.

Physician – Interventional Cardiology

Job Details:

• Provide interventional cardiology locum coverage in an inpatient/call setting
• Weekday onsite staffing: Monday – Friday, 7:00 AM – 5:00 PM
• Weekday evening on-call coverage: Monday – Friday, 5:00 PM – 7:00 AM
• Weekend on-call coverage: Saturday 7:00 AM – Monday 7:00 AM
• Approximately 2 inpatient admissions per physician per day
• Potential for some rounding responsibilities
• STEMI call is aligned with unassigned call and noninvasive coverage
• Call volume consists primarily of phone consultations; emergent STEMI callbacks occur at a rate of less than every other day
• Other interventional cardiologists will be present during locum coverage
• No supervisory responsibilities over other healthcare providers
• Patient population: adult and geriatric
• Documentation via EPIC EMR
• Required procedures: Balloon Angioplasties, Coronary Angioplasty, Percutaneous Coronary Intervention (PCI), Heart Catheterization, Medical Management of Vascular Disease, Coronary Angiograms, Embolic Protection, Carotid Artery Stenting, and Atherectomy
• Must provide at least 50 case logs within the past 12 months for interventional cases
• Board certification required
• Active Virginia state license required
• BLS/ACLS required
• Clean malpractice history required
• Self-Query NPDB report required at time of presentation (pulled within 30 days)
• Credentialing via emergency or temporary privileges
• Travel reimbursement provided for flight, hotel, and rental car

Compensation:
Competitive hourly rates with weekly pay and malpractice included.
