Physician – Cardiothoracic Surgery

Job Details:

  • BC/BE Cardiothoracic Surgeon opportunity to join a busy, collegial, and highly trained surgical team
  • Training and experience in robotic cardiac surgery is highly desirable
  • Well-established heart failure program including transplant, VADs, and ECMO
  • Strong, large volume valve surgery program: aortic replacement, TAVR, mitral repair and replacement, and minimally invasive mitral and aortic surgery
  • More than 1,500 open heart cases performed per year
  • Hartford Hospital serves as a mitral valve repair reference center and has the largest volume of mitral valve surgery in the Northeast
  • 40 operating rooms, including 4 dedicated to cardiac surgery, 2 state-of-the-art hybrid rooms, 5 robots, and 15 minimally invasive ORs
  • Dedicated referrals from eight affiliated hospitals throughout Connecticut
  • Cardiothoracic surgical residency program in affiliation with the University of Connecticut
  • Academic appointments available through the University of Connecticut
  • Exceptional critical care capabilities with dedicated Cardiac Intensivists and Advanced Practitioners
  • Access to a nationally recognized 45,000 sq. ft. Center for Education, Simulation and Innovation (CESI)
