The facility employs more than 300 Advanced Practitioners and has developed one of the first nationally recognized Offices of Advanced Practice (OAP), providing operational support, professional development, continuing education opportunities, and credentialing and privileging support.
Opportunity:
Advanced Practitioners – Surgery
Job Details:
- Serve as surgical first assistant for gynecologic procedures, including minimally invasive, robotic, vaginal, and open surgeries
- Provide patient management and consultative services on Women's Health surgical units
- Deliver pre- and post-operative care for surgical patients
- Conduct inpatient and emergency department consultations
- Coordinate care with multidisciplinary teams and other departments, including the Emergency Department
- Work closely with Obstetrics and Gynecology residents as part of the women's health inpatient services
- Schedule consists of four 10-hour shifts Monday through Friday, 6a-4p or 8a-6p
- Some flexibility required several times per year to cover evening hours for resident events such as educational retreats, in-service exams, and graduation
- Graduate of an accredited Physician Assistant or APRN Program required
- Current Connecticut PA/APRN license required
- Board Certified or Board Eligible required (certification must be accomplished within 3 months of hire if eligible)
- Bachelor's Degree required; Master's preferred for PA position and required for APRN position
- Prior experience in women's health services strongly recommended
- Demonstrated experience assisting in the operating room and managing perioperative surgical patients strongly preferred
