Facility:
This facility is a well-established radiation oncology department offering a collaborative and supportive work environment with friendly staff and strong oncology teamwork. The department is equipped with modern technology including two Varian TrueBeams, a large bore CT scanner with respiratory gating, an Identify Motion Management System, Varian Eclipse treatment planning, MIM, ARIA EMR, and EPIC for clinic practice.

Physician – Radiation Oncology

Job Details:

• Locum Tenens opportunity with at least 2 Radiation Oncologists in the department at all times – no solo coverage required
• Typical daily volume of approximately 10-16 patients under treatment per day per physician
• Approximately 2-3 consults per day, four days per week, with no consults scheduled on OTV day
• Average of 3-5 CT sims per day across the team
• Follow-up volume of approximately 10-12 per week
• Consults scheduled for 60 minutes and follow-ups for 30 minutes
• Typical schedule runs Monday through Friday, 7:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m.
• Monday, Wednesday, Thursday, and Friday scheduled for consults, follow-ups, and simulations
• Tuesday reserved as OTV day for the locum
• Must be onsite during all hours of operation
• Handle inpatient and outpatient consults, follow-up visits, CT sim orders, treatment planning, critical structures, RT prescriptions, plan approval, imaging orders, and review/approval
• Collaborate closely with oncology team members including participation in chart rounds, system peer rounds, and tumor conferences
• Required proficiency in EPIC, Varian ARIA, and Eclipse, along with experience using Varian TrueBeam
• Required skills include Linear Accelerator, Rapid Arc/VMAT, and Electrons
• Required techniques include Conventional/Conformal Therapy, IMRT, IGRT, SBRT, and SRS
• Required treatment planning skills include Conventional Treatment Planning, Beam Shaping (MLC), 3D CRT, IMRT, PET CT or MRI Image Fusion, and Electronic Portal Imaging (EPI)
• Board certification required with BLS certification
• Estimated credentialing timeframe of 45-120 days
• Nearest airports are MSP or DLH

Compensation:
Competitive hourly rates with weekly pay and malpractice included.
