Advanced Practitioners – Surgery
Job Details:
- Seeking a Nocturnist Physician Assistant or Acute Care Nurse Practitioner to join an enthusiastic and seasoned surgery team
- Responsible for first-assisting in the operating room, rounding, bedside procedures, admissions, discharges, and consults
- Work in collaboration with a number of surgeons across multiple surgical specialties
- Service covers General Surgery, Robotic Surgery, Bariatric Surgery, and Thoracic Surgery, with some coverage of Orthopedics and Vascular
- High level of autonomy with ample team experience and support
- Full-time, nights position with flexible scheduling options available
- No call schedule required
- Inpatient surgery setting located in Meriden, CT
- Perform routine physical examinations and formulate medical, educational, and psychosocial plans to treat patients
- Develop plans for further evaluation of health needs in consultation with physicians and care team members, including referrals to specialists
- Provide appropriate treatment within the scope of practice and refer appropriately when needed
- Unrestricted State of Connecticut Medical License required (or eligible)
- RNFA certification required for Nurse Practitioners
- New graduates are welcome to apply; 2+ years of experience in a surgery setting preferred
- Utilizes EPIC for clinical and informatics technology to promote improved patient outcomes and streamlined continuity of care
