Facility:
This is a large academic medical center and Level 1 Trauma Center that serves as a primary teaching hospital, featuring a dedicated 20-bed Neuroscience Intensive Care Unit (NSICU) and a Joint Commission-certified Comprehensive Stroke Center. The facility boasts an established clinical neuroscience team including 10 neurosurgeons, 20+ neurologists, and a large dedicated NSICU team providing 24/7 coverage, utilizing a multidisciplinary approach to neurological care.

Locums – Nurse Practitioner, Physician Assistant – Neurology

Job Details:

• Locums coverage opportunity in the Neuroscience Intensive Care Unit (NSICU) for a Physician Assistant or Acute Care Nurse Practitioner
• Coverage dates: 7am-7pm 12/26-1/1 and 7am-7pm starting January 2027
• Candidates must come in the day before their start date for orientation
• Minimum of 1 year of experience required
• Acute Care Certification required
• Inpatient responsibilities only – no ER backup and no call
• Provider must have the ability to perform ICU level care
• Locums provider will respond to codes
• Average total inpatient census of 20 patients with approximately 4 patients per provider per day and 2 admissions per day
• Required certifications: ACLS and BLS from AHA
• Integrated EMR: EPIC
• Required procedures include:
•    • Arterial Lines
•    • Central Lines
•    • Lumbar Punctures
•    • Vent Management
