This facility is a comprehensive healthcare organization providing a wide range of behavioral health services across multiple settings, including inpatient mental health units for both adult and adolescent populations, community behavioral health programs, psychiatric emergency services, and hospital-based consult liaison work. The organization is also expanding its services with a new Crisis Stabilization Center opening in Winter 2026, offering providers an exciting opportunity to be part of a growing and evolving behavioral health team.
Opportunity:
Physician – Psychiatry
Job Details:
- Full-time locum tenens opportunity with a 7 days on/7 days off schedule
- Shift hours are 8am-6pm with a required 10-hour on-site presence per day
- Overnight call schedule follows the same 7 days on/7 days off rotation with very low call volume
- Approximately 20 patient encounters per shift
- Provide comprehensive psychiatric services across inpatient mental health units (adult and adolescent), community behavioral health programs, psychiatric emergency services, and hospital-based consult liaison work
- Support the new Crisis Stabilization Center opening Winter 2026
- Must be Board-Certified in Psychiatry
- Must have experience treating patients ages 12 and older
- Active DEA required
- BLS certification required
- No active Alaska license required at time of bid – facility will license a clean applicant (5-6 week process) or will accept Letter of Qualification through IMLCC
- Estimated credentialing timeframe of 90 days
- Required clinical areas include anxiety disorders, affective disorders, ADD/ADHD, personality disorders, eating disorders, and psychotic disorders
- Long-term housing accommodations required – pre-approval recommended
- Immediate start with a 1-year commitment needed
