Job Details:
- Seeking a Physician Assistant or Nurse Practitioner (APRN) to serve in a leadership role within the Cardiology department, supporting both inpatient and outpatient practice settings
- Oversee and coordinate the APP team supporting a Norwich provider group of general and non-invasive procedural cardiologists
- Provide clinical supervision including work assignments, scheduling, training, and evaluation in accordance with departmental policies and procedures
- Monitor competency, documentation, and outcomes of care delivered by the APP team while identifying and driving quality goals
- Model effective leadership behaviors and facilitate learning opportunities for staff to enhance their effectiveness
- Provide coaching and team building to improve employee productivity and satisfaction, serving as a resource for problem solving
- Identify staff learning needs, orient new APPs, and develop department-level education including in-services and teaching materials
- Actively participate in and lead quality improvement discussions, patient feedback reviews, and development of action plans
- Assist with annual performance evaluations of cardiology APPs and recommend disciplinary measures when necessary
- Assist with interviewing and hiring of Physician Assistants or Nurse Practitioners (APRN)
- Act as a liaison among nursing staff, medical staff, and management, and address patient concerns as needed
- Assist in the development of policies and procedures related to patient care following established cardiology and medical standards
- Master's Degree in Physician Assistant or Nurse Practitioner (APRN) studies required, with some background in business management or leadership preferred
- Minimum of 5+ years of clinical experience required; 3+ years of cardiology experience preferred
- Active Connecticut Advanced Practice Provider license and DEA required
- ACLS and BLS certification required
- Knowledge of cardiac devices preferred
- Schedule: Monday through Sunday
