Opportunity:
Physician – Neurological Surgery
Job Details:
- Locum Tenens opportunity providing inpatient and outpatient neurosurgical coverage in Eureka, CA
- Coverage includes clinic and call responsibilities with weeknight beeper and 24-hour weekend beeper call
- Specific dates needed: 11/21–12/9 and 12/27–1/6, with ongoing need
- Clinic hours are 8:30am–5:00pm on weekdays; night call runs from 5:00pm–8:30am the following day
- Weekend coverage is 24-hour call
- 5 patient encounters per shift
- Guaranteed 8 hours per day; overtime applies after 9 hours per day
- Must hold an active California medical license (CA license required to bid)
- DEA registration required
- Board Certified in Neurological Surgery required
- FLURO certification is required (temporary FLURO certification is acceptable)
- Must be able to handle complex spine cases
- Required skills include adult general neurosurgery, trauma neurosurgery, and spinal surgery with and without instrumentation (cervical, thoracic, and lumbar)
- Placement of ICP monitors required
- Must submit 100 case logs within the past 24 months specific to privileges being requested during the credentialing process
- All hospital affiliations must be included on an updated CV submitted at the time of presentation
- Minimum 2 years of current hospital clinical activity in the specialty required; gaps greater than 3 months must be explained
- Estimated credentialing timeframe is 90 days
- Long-term lodging budget available up to $3,500 per month if required
