Advanced Practitioners – Surgery
Job Details:
- Join a highly collaborative Surgical Subspecialties team of 22 physicians and 9 Physician Assistants focused on exceptional teamwork, communication, and provider autonomy
- Serve as first-assist in the OR with extensive hands-on surgical experience
- Manage ED and inpatient consults, admissions, rounding, discharges, and invasive bedside procedures
- Gain exposure to a diverse case mix including General Surgery, Thoracic Surgery, Vascular Surgery, Colorectal Surgery, and Plastic Surgery
- Participate in robotic-assisted procedures, vascular interventions, breast reconstruction, thoracic surgery, and more
- Role is open to Physician Assistants seeking diverse surgical experience, procedural autonomy, and the opportunity to practice at the top of their license
- Inpatient, surgery, and surgical subspecialties setting
- Full-time nights with flexible schedule and premium differentials offered
- No call schedule required
- Perform routine physical examinations and formulate medical, educational, and psychosocial treatment plans
- Develop plans for further evaluation of health needs in consultation with physicians and care team members, including referrals to specialists
- Provide appropriate treatment within scope of practice as designated by protocols
- Requires unrestricted State of Connecticut Medical License (or eligibility)
- Must be a certified or board-eligible Physician Assistant or Acute Care Nurse Practitioner
- Minimum 1+ years of experience as a Physician Assistant in surgery or a related setting required
